Abstract
The use of qualitative methods in general and the use of phenomenology in particular, with the main goal of examining in depth and accurately challenges related to the fields of humanities and social issues in various dimensions, is facing increasing growth. Based on a systematic review of 180 articles that have used the phenomenology method, we found that the methodological policies governing phenomenological research are mostly vague and incomplete and focus more on the philosophical definition and description of this qualitative method, and the process of operationalizing and implementing this method has been neglected or ignored in most of them. Also, in most of them, it is not specified which type of phenomenology was used. Or in some of them, it is not mentioned why descriptive phenomenology was used and not interpretive phenomenology, and in general, no attention has been paid to the goals of these different types of phenomenology. Therefore, in this article, using two methods of systematic and library review, we have carefully introduced the phenomenological method, especially its operational and implementation parts, and have created a methodological framework and roadmap for researchers who wish to use the qualitative paradigm and phenomenological method for their research.
