Aims and the Vision of JSS

The Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad accepts original researches on the main theme of sociology that particularly focus on economic sociology and development. The studies should be empirical and characterized by methodological, conceptual and theoretical innovations. Accordingly, the editorial board considers and accepts the researches on the following themes, which the authors should consider before uploading their manuscripts:

  • Novel ideas on the processes, grounds, as well as social, cultural, political, and economic consequences of development and economic policy-makings
  • Criticizing, expanding, deepening, and mixing sociological theories, using field and experimental data
  • The application, criticism, and development of modern research methods, focusing on the technical and methodological novelties, and specially, using multifaceted and mixed analyses (simultaneous application of qualitative and quantitative methods)
  • Taking interdisciplinary approaches and analyses and attempt to add to the synergy of the scientific community through applying theoretical, conceptual, and methodological findings in such fields as economics, political sciences, history, and other fields that are related to sociological analysis
  • Methodical criticism of books and articles conducted on the economic sociology and development.

    Scope and Specialty

    The Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Journal of Social Sciences publishes papers extracted from field (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed), theoretical, review, and comparative-historical studies on social sciences, economic sociology, developmental sociology and sustainable development. The journal also publishes interdisciplinary studies that focus on economic development. The submitted papers should have not been published in any Iranian or foreign journals. The papers that are remarkably applicable or are on social and welfare policies and can help the economic and sustainable development would be preferred by the editorial board. The journal accepts the articles that engage:
