Abstract
the aim of the present study was to study the lived experience of male housewives of working women with a patriarchal approach.
to this end, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 5 employed women and 7 housewives, and after analyzing the qualitative content of the interviews, concepts and themes were extracted
Based on the research findings, regarding women's experience of playing professional roles, 23 concepts, 8 subcategories, and 1 main category were identified under the title "The difficult symphony of life in existential passages" and in the form of the categories of "economic needs", "empowerment", "physical problems", "worries and wishes", "family pressures", "family and professional conflicts", "employment as a factor in improving family and social status", and "triple conflict: professional duty - mother – houseworkrrr regarding the experience of housewives in performing household roles, a total of 30 concepts, 11 subcategories, and 1 main category titled "Identity Cage: Men's Contradictions and Challenges" were extracted in the form of the categories of "Striving to be a good father", "Fruitful presence at home", "Division of work in the family", "Limitations of economic independence", "Decreased intellectual independence", and "Weakened social identity", "Helplessness", "behavioral inflexibility", "social exclusion of housewives", "limited social relationships" and "isolationism"
