Abstract
This study, conducted in 2024, employs a qualitative approach and thematic analysis method to examine and identify the key issues faced by socially vulnerable women covered by the Welfare Organization in Razavi Khorasan Province. The main objective of the study is to provide an in-depth analysis of the lived experiences and viewpoints of socially vulnerable women regarding economic and social empowerment, with a particular focus on the meaning and interpretation of their experiences. Participants were selected through purposive sampling from among socially vulnerable women being cared for and empowered in three centers: Khaneh TalashToos, Dah-e Dey, and Hedayat. The main inclusion criterion was the participants’ information and experience related to the research topic. Sampling continued until theoretical saturation was reached, which was obtained through constant comparison after 20 interviews. Research data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and analyzed by thematic analysis. The findings suggest that the women studied confronted multiple challenges in economic and social empowerment due to a lack of professional skills, limited employment opportunities, social discrimination, psychological issues, and insufficient social support. The results of the data analysis highlighted the need to design and implement comprehensive educational, counseling, and support programs in order to empower this group of women. This study can serve as a practical source of information for relevant institutions and policymakers in improving the living conditions of socially vulnerable women.
