The Effect of Quality of Life on Attitude Towards Qualifications of Graduates (Case study: Private Sector Employers in Mashhad)

Abstract
In recent years, the expansion of universities and the ease of admission have prompted a surge in the number of graduates in most fields of study in Iran. Along with this quantitative growth of graduates, the skills and competencies of graduates have been raised as a key challenge. It appears that one of the common problems of the educational system in Iran is the low level of skills and practical knowledge of university graduates. The aim of the research is to explore the effect of the quality of life on the attitude towards graduates' competencies among the employers of Mashhad. In this applied research, a field survey method has been adopted. The statistical population of the research comprised the private sector employers in Mashhad, from whom a sample of 350 people was selected from a wide range of managers through judgmental sampling method using Cochran's formula. SPSS and Amos software were used for data analysis. According to the findings, the graduates’ quality of life has a significant effect on the attitude towards competencies among university graduates in Mashhad. Accordingly, the model variables can explain 19% of variance in the graduates' attitude towards competences. The standard estimation of the structural equation model regarding the effect of graduates’ quality of life on their attitude towards qualifications was estimated at 0.541. According to the findings, it can be concluded that by improving the quality of life, especially the quality of education at universities and paying greater attention to the practical and practical aspects of students' education, their professional and vocational skills could be enhanced. In addition, the relevant organizations, especially the alumni associations, need to build up the students' skill training and develop their expertise relative to the demands of the society after graduation.
