The effect of residents’ quality of life in urban distressed areas on their tendency to regeneration in Mashhad

Abstract
Cooperation among actors is an essential part of urban regeneration initiatives. The main idea of this paper is that, citizens with higher levels of quality of life have more abilities to take part in regeneration and so have more positive attitudes to these initiatives. All real estate owners and residents in all urban distressed areas in Mashhad were the statistical population of this research. Sample size was 384 and the sampling method was random in clusters. Findings showed that most of residents in these areas have low quality of life and more 78% of them want to change situation and take part in regeneration.
