For years, beneath the surface of society, the independent Iranian woman has been living a life that enables her own development as well as that of future generations. Yet, her demands and priorities have persistently gone unaddressed by influential and official platforms, despite being recorded and preserved in the findings of national research projects. In this article, an effort has been made to analyze changes in women’s values over the past two decades through an examination of findings from six national value and attitude surveys.
The study employs secondary data analysis methods. The research findings indicate that values related to women can be categorized into two groups: women’s perspectives on society and their evaluations of gender-related attitudes. It is evident from the findings that women, in many cases, perceive the general state of society as not improving, similar to or even more strongly than men. Furthermore, over the past two decades, they have consistently highlighted the existence of gender discrimination.
