Abstract

Tourism TV is a new type of diverse tourism market. In fact, the works left from the past and the cultural heritage of Iran have the potential to become the basis for economic-social reconstruction of the country by attracting tourists and developing tourism. The establishment of tourism television is one of the most important opportunities that can introduce tourists to the facilities and tourism environments of the far reaches of Iran. The aim of the current research was to identify and prioritize the opportunities and threats facing the establishment of tourism television in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Therefore, the Delphi technique has been used to achieve this goal. The statistical population of the research included all specialists in the field of media and tourism management, and 30 of these specialists were selected as a statistical sample. Sampling was purposeful. Based on the findings of this research, the total threats and opportunities have been estimated in 7 main topics and finally, solutions based on these topics have been presented to create the possibility of launching and developing the tourism television network as a development-oriented media.
