Abstract
Poverty and misery are among the problems of today's societies. The policies of different governments can have a significant impact on solving this problem. After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, health, education, housing, welfare, and social security policies as important and influential dimensions of supportive policies have been influenced by the orientations, approaches, ideology, and intellectual currents governing the policies of governments. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to study the role of supportive policies (housing, health, education, welfare, and social security) of the Ahmadinejad and Rouhani governments in the poverty and economic misery of citizens. The research method used in this research is qualitative and the phenomenological approach has been used as the operational method of the research. To collect the research data, semi-structured in-depth interviews were used. The statistical population of the study is key experts and informants in the housing, education, health, welfare and social security sectors of Gilan province. The sampling method is purposeful and after the interviews were saturation, the sample size was 24 people. The findings of the research indicate that from the participants' point of view, the social-supportive policies (education, housing, health, welfare, and social security) of the Ahmadinejad and Rouhani governments have not been very successful, and these policies have increased the poverty and economic misery of citizens. In fact, the social-supportive policies of the Ahmadinejad and Rouhani governments, despite being influenced by two different political currents, have been involved in contradiction, confusion, and turmoil, and in practice, the supportive policies in the fields of education, housing, health, welfare, and social security have been neglected.
