Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the role of service quality on the role of service quality on sports participation of students in sports areas in the universities of Arak. The research method was a descriptive correlation, and the population was all students of universities in Arak (N=18000). Stratified Sampling selected the sample. Data were gathered by three questionnaires service quality of China Liu (2008), satisfaction of Cronin (2000), and attendance intention of Duncan and Gary (2002). Face and Content Validity were tested by an expert panel (N=12), and Construct Validity was tested by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA); Reliability was done by Cronbach's alpha. Data analyses were done using descriptive statistics (Mean, Standard Deviation, and Diagram) and inferential statistics (Kolmogorov–Smirnov, Kurtosis and Skewness, One-Sample T-Test, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equations) in SPSS16 and LISREL8.8 Software. Findings reveal that the impact of service quality on satisfaction (Path coefficient= 0/75) and Sports participation of students in sports areas (Path coefficient= 0/15) was direct and significant; that the impact of the service quality on the satisfaction (Path coefficient= 0/75) was much stronger than sports participation. Also, Findings reveal that Satisfaction has a mediator role in the relationship between the services quality and sports participation of students of students in university sports facilities. Therefore, considering the role of service quality on student satisfaction and Sports participation, student sports executives and university managers should make their Maximum effort to improve service quality to satisfy students and encourage them to attend the university sports areas.
