Abstract
Urban neighborhoods, as the smallest unit of the spatial organization in the city, play an essential role in urban sustainability so that the sustainability of neighborhoods can be a measure against which the outcomes of urban policies that connect diverse aspects and issues of the city could be analyzed. Despite the importance of neighborhood sustainability indices, scant attention has been paid to the issue of sustainable indices of urban neighborhoods in Isfahan. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the sustainability of 14 neighborhoods in Region 3 of Isfahan using a quantitative method. The statistical population includes the citizens of Isfahan. A sample size of 425 people was selected from among the residents of Region 3 of Isfahan using Cochran's formula. Data analysis was conducted using a one-sample T-test and ANP method by Super Decision network analysis software. As shown by the results of the T-test, to many citizens, physical-environmental and health-treatment indicators are in a sustainable state while sociocultural and economic indicators are on the edge of unsustainability, which has provoked dissatisfaction among the citizens. Also, the results of the ANP model, the physical-environmental criterion (normal weight: 0.305) is the first priority, the economic criterion (normal weight: 0.285) is the second priority, the socio-cultural criterion (normal weight: 0.157) is the third priority, and the health-treatment criterion (normal weight: 0.147) is the fourth priority. In terms of sustainable development, Khajo, Charkhab, Baghkaran, Malik, Naqshjahan, Ahmadabad, Shahshahan, Qala Tabara, Sarcheshmeh, Sanbalistan, Golzar, Imamzadeh Ismail, Joybareh, and Sartawa neighborhoods run the gamut from the most sustainable to the most unsustainable neighborhoods, respectively.
