Abstract
COVID-19 was a problem the origin of which was beyond human actions in societies, but its fallouts affected all human actions. This study was undertaken as a sociological analysis of the COVID-19 adverse impacts on families. Informed by a mixed methods (quantitative-qualitative) approach, this paper adopts the Q-method. Data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. Cronbach's alpha was used to estimate the reliability of the research instrument. The statistical population for developing the questionnaire and interviews consisted of 16 people who were selected from four groups of health and family elites, directors of hospitals and clinics, selected managers and experts from the Ministry of Health, and university professors. In the quantitative section, 400 people were studied using SPSS Sample Power software. The results yielded nine factors as the key impacts of COVID-19: lifestyle changes, dramatic collective behaviors, the extent of social interaction, the degree of social resilience, media literacy of people, the mental and physical health of families, individual creativity, attention to spirituality, and security/sense of security. Accordingly, it can be inferred that proper family management requires not only raising awareness at the community level for various strata, but also paving the way for developing proper behaviors and rational coping with epidemics in society through meticulous planning to change attitudes towards the current status of families, especially through mass media. Lifestyle changes can bring social life into the process of movement and progress, but the changes must be in line with the defined norms of the social system. In this regard, it is necessary to revive and reinforce some components of lifestyle, while trying to manage and plan a quality lifestyle in keeping with social changes to induce positive changes.
