Abstract
Barthes believed that our daily life is organized linguistically. Therefore, even social events can be considered as a context and it can be recognized through the language it uses.
This essay confirms the Barth's approach, and tries to study and analyze the phenomenon of changing the actions of the gender society in Iran according to the theory of markedness in language.
For this purpose, first the concept of markedness in language was explained and its transition from language to society was analyzed. Also, it was shown that the value of markedness increased in the 20th century and as a result, the marked species of society, i.e. women, grew. Then, we talked about the effect of this flow on Iranian society and explained how women could influence on social spaces.
In addition, we showed how the promotion of the concept of markedness has harmed Iran's patriarchal society and turned masculinity from a clear phenomenon into an ambiguous phenomenon.
