Abstract

The purpose of the article is to investigate the representation of the image of the student in Iranian cinema from 1378 to the end of the 90s. In this research, due to the fact that movies are the text to be analyzed, the combination of Fairclough's discourse analysis method with John Fisk's semiotics has been used. In the description stage, using the semiotic techniques of social reality codes and representational codes, the external features of the text are examined. In the interpretation of the ideological codes, which overlaps with the analysis of the discourses of the text, it is examined. In the explanatory stage, discourse is examined as a part of the process of social struggle in the context of power relations. The results show that the period from 76 to 80, which coincides with the first government of Khatami, can be called protestant idealism, the second government of Khatami can be called indifference and aimlessness, the period from 84 to 88, that is, the first government of Ahmadinejad, can be called multiple confusion, the government The second one calls Ahmadinejad an outcast. The 90s, which coincides with Rouhani's presidency, can be called the period of life politics. Examining this process shows that a student who aspires to macro-political changes and leadership of the country's political and social currents, in the course of despair from the fulfillment of his wishes, repressions and the economic and social conditions of the country, has settled for concern at the micro level.
