A study of the factors affecting the tendency of universities' teaching staff to carry out research projects

Abstract

The basic question addressed in this article is: "Why do university teachers in
departments of humanities show less inclination than their counterparts in other
departments to carry our research projects inside and outside the university?"
The results of the study showed that the following factors have an effect on the
inclination of members of the teaching staff of universities to carry out research
projects: teachers' understanding of the obstacles to the implementation of
"research projects, the definition of research in their field, attitude toward
research in their field, existing opportunities for scientific activities.
