In this paper, the writers discuss the process of globalization as the most important process facing the human societies. The writers first discuss the importance, the background and the origin of this process and examine the various definitions of globalization offered. Then they explore the theoretical dimensions of this process and address the question whether globalization is synonymous with Americanization of westernization of the world. Finally, the writers examine the position of Iran in this process.
