Abstract
The present study investigates the relationship between people’s social class and their attitudes toward modernism. This paper is based on a survey research which carried out among a sample of 249 of the 15-year old citizens of Yazd. Based on the definitions given for modernism, in general, most theorists considered 8 components as the main components of modernism. The findings of the study show that there is a significant and direct relationship between utilitarianism, democratic approach, scientific orientation, liberalism, and rationalism, on the one hand, and social class, on the other hand; whereas, individualism, consumerism and criticism did not have a significant relationship with social class.
