Abstract

The goal of conducting the current research was to study social factors affecting on the generation gap of values among mothers and daughters with an emphasis on religious values in the city of Mashhad.
For this goal, from the girls with 18 to 29 ages and their mothers, a group of 384 persons were selected from 12 areas of Mashhad. For collecting data, the questionnaire technique has been used. The theoretical framework of this research is based on macro theories in the field of generation gap.
The results of this research showed that there is value generation gap between mothers and daughters. Individualism, reference group and family was significant variables in regression analysis.
Regression analysis explains about 30 percent of changes of religious values described by the social factor.
