Abstract

Shopping centers and markets have played a very important role in people's lives and in cities since ancient times, so that unlike the past, due to the expansion of shopping centers and arcades, the economic aspect of shopping centers has become more prominent. The purpose of the research is to understand and describe the form and content changes in the shopping style and behavior of people in Karaj passages. The research strategy in the present research is based on a qualitative approach, using the grounded theory method. Data collection was done with 20 citizens of Karaj city by asking research questions in the form of an interview protocol. After compiling reports and analyzing data in the form of open code tables, we reached sub-categories, then by examining these sub-categories, we sought to discover the main categories. Finally, by putting together the cores of: "increasing the preference of buying from the arcade due to the increase in the culture of shopping in the arcade", "increasing the consumption of the arcade space due to its desirability", "increasing the culture of ostentatious consumption in people's shopping" into the category of the final core or super category. We have arrived at "Formal and content changes of shopping style". Then we designed the paradigm model and analyzed its mechanisms.
